Week 5 – Judy

Baby and Me

One of the wasps hatched from the nest we knocked down last week! I moved the nest a little and one of the larva fell out. The hatched wasp went right over to it and checked it out. It’s hard to believe that white blob turns into a such a pretty insect.

Taken with my Olympus TG-4 on microscope mode. Applied some cropping and added a black border.

Wow! What a cool event to watch and photograph! You captured the moment perfectly. The little hatchling looks so concerned! Aww…:( It’s a little sad. Good photography is often emotional. I like how you have the three elements, the nest, the hatchling and the larva. Nicely done! 🙂

What an awesome idea Judy. I have never seen a larva outside of the safety of its nest. That is so cool they wasp came over to inspect. What a wonderful nature documentary. I agree with Robin on capturing all three elements in lone shot. Perfect life cycle photograph. 🙂
